This publication explores various aspects of Islamic economics from philosophical, theological and empirical perspectives. Authors from outside and within the country discuss the role of maqashid sharia and maslahah in improving community welfare and the contribution of the halal industry to economic growth, especially in areas such as Central Tapanuli. In addition, there is an analysis of the empowerment of Muslim communities through the utilization of village funds, as well as the welfare of milkfish producers in the context of the halal economy. Entrepreneurial values are also examined in the management of family kitchens in pesantren, while the authority of religious courts in consumer protection is outlined in the framework of Islamic law. The article also highlights the importance of education and culture in community participation in halal tourism, as well as the challenges and opportunities of Islamic banking in a dual banking system.
