PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

1. Introduction
Al-Insyiroh: Jurnal Studi Keislaman is a peer-reviewed academic journal committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in scholarly publishing. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
The journal adopts ethical principles in line with internationally recognized guidelines such as those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), while implementing its own editorial policies tailored to interdisciplinary Islamic studies.

2. Editorial Responsibility and Publication Decisions
The Editor-in-Chief, supported by the Editorial Board, is responsible for determining which submitted manuscripts are suitable for publication. Decisions are based on academic merit, originality, relevance to the journal’s scope, and the validity of the research.
Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by commercial interests, institutional affiliations, or personal considerations.

3. Fairness and Editorial Independence
Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their intellectual content without discrimination based on race, gender, religious belief, nationality, or political views. The journal ensures editorial independence from the publisher and other external influences.

4. Confidentiality
All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Editors and reviewers must not disclose any information about submissions to unauthorized parties, except as required for the peer-review process.

5. Conflict of Interest
Editors, reviewers, and authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the evaluation or interpretation of the manuscript. Manuscripts involving conflicts of interest will be handled transparently and fairly.

6. Peer Review Process
Al-Insyiroh implements a double-blind peer review system, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations.

7. Duties of Authors
a. Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cites the work of others. The journal applies plagiarism screening tools, and manuscripts with significant similarity (generally above 20%) may be rejected.
b. Reporting Standards
Authors must present accurate and complete descriptions of their research. Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is considered unethical.
c. Multiple Submissions
Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is prohibited.
d. Authorship
Authorship should reflect significant contributions to the research. All listed authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.
e. Data Transparency
Authors are encouraged to retain research data and provide access upon reasonable request. Where applicable, a data availability statement should be included.
f. Use of Generative AI
Authors must disclose the use of AI tools in the preparation of manuscripts. AI tools cannot be listed as authors, and human authors remain fully responsible for the content.

8. Research Ethics Involving Human and Animal Subjects
For research involving participants, authors must::
- Obtain informed consent from participants
- Ensure anonymity and confidentiality
- Provide ethical clearance from a recognized institution where applicable
- Comply with relevant legal and ethical standards
Failure to meet these requirements may result in rejection or retraction.

9. Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers are expected to:
- Provide objective and constructive feedback
- Maintain confidentiality
- Identify relevant uncited work
- Decline review if conflicts of interest exist

10. Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for:
- Ensuring a fair review process
- Maintaining confidentiality
- Avoiding conflicts of interest
- Taking appropriate action in cases of ethical violations

11. Allegations of Misconduct
The journal defines misconduct as including, but not limited to:
- Plagiarism
- Data fabrication or falsification
- Citation manipulation
- Duplicate publication
All allegations will be investigated following established ethical procedures. Authors will be given the opportunity to respond.

12. Retraction and Correction Policy
If significant errors or ethical violations are identified:
- Corrections may be issued for minor issues
- Retractions will be published for serious violations
- Retraction notices will remain linked to the original article

13. Sanctions and Penalties
Authors found to have committed ethical violations may face:
- Immediate rejection of the manuscript
- Retraction of published articles
- Temporary or permanent submission bans

14. Complaints and Appeals
The journal provides a mechanism for handling complaints regarding editorial decisions, peer review, or publication ethics. All complaints will be addressed fairly and in accordance with ethical standards.

15. Publisher Responsibilities
The publisher ensures that editorial decisions are independent and supports the journal in maintaining ethical publishing standards. Commercial interests do not influence editorial processes
