Employing a qualitative library research design, the primary data sources consist of canonical hadith collections—particularly Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim, Sunan Abī Dāwūd, and Sunan al-Tirmidhī—. Secondary sources include contemporary scholarly works on bullying, child psychology, and Islamic family studies published in peer-reviewed journals. Using thematic hadith analysis (al-dirāsah al-mawḍū‘iyyah) and a socio-normative approach, this study identifies four operative mechanisms through which the sakinah family model functions in preventing bullying: (1) the internalization of compassion (raḥmah) through prophetic parenting patterns, (2) the cultivation of emotional regulation based on the prohibition of anger-driven aggression, (3) dialogical conflict resolution modeled in the Prophet’s household interactions, and (4) moral-social accountability reinforced through teachings on dignity (karāmah) and the prohibition of humiliation. These mechanisms operate at the levels of character formation, emotional development, and social behavior control within the family structure. The novelty of this research lies in its analytical reconstruction of hadith narratives into a concrete preventive model against bullying, moving beyond general normative discussions of the sakinah family toward a structured socio-ethical framework grounded in prophetic traditions. By bridging classical hadith scholarship and contemporary bullying discourse, this study offers a conceptually integrative and practically applicable contribution to Islamic family studies
Irsyad Hasan, Marwan Mas'ud, Teguh Dwi Prayoga Copyright (c) 2026 Irsyad Hasan, Marwan Mas'ud, Teguh Dwi Prayoga http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/633 Wed, 18 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Reconstructing The Sharia Economic Integration Model: A Path Toward Santri Economic Independence in The Pesantren Context https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/671
This study examines an integration model of Islamic economics into the curriculum of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) as an effort to strengthen students’ economic independence. Although many pesantren conduct economic activities and teach fiqh muamalah, these elements often operate without systematic curriculum reconstruction. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through document analysis, participatory observation, and in-depth interviews with administrators, teachers, and students. Data were analyzed through open, axial, and selective coding to identify patterns of integration and structural gaps. The findings reveal that integration occurs across three operational dimensions: (1) textual–normative instruction through classical fiqh muamalah texts, (2) structured economic practices via student business unit rotations, and (3) institutionalized ethical supervision mechanisms. However, these dimensions remain fragmented and are not formally embedded into measurable curriculum structures. Based on these findings, this study reconstructs a Sharia Economic Curriculum Integration Model consisting of four interrelated components: value integration, formal curriculum integration, practice-based learning integration, and institutional economic ecosystem integration. The study concludes that integrating Islamic economics in pesantren is not merely the addition of economic content but requires epistemological restructuring of the curriculum to bridge classical religious scholarship and applied economic competence. This reconstruction strengthens the role of pesantren as institutions that cultivate both religious authority and sustainable economic independence.
Abdul Chamid, Emiola Habeeb Olasunkanm , Habeebullah Abdus-salaam Copyright (c) 2026 Abdul Chamid, Emiola Habeeb Olasunkanm , Habeebullah Abdus-salaam http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/671 Wed, 18 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Prophetic Communication and the Formation of Pesantren Habitus: A Structural Functionalist Perspective https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/646
Communication errors often hinder relationship building, including in Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School). With various problems faced today, such as radicalism, violence, and sexual abuse, Islamic traditions need to be strengthened. The purpose of the research is to re-read the tradition (habitus) of Pesantren in Nurul Hakim Kediri and Hikmatusysyarief NWDI Narmada through the actualization of empathetic, persuasive, and communication ethics. This study uses qualitative-phenomenological methods through in-depth interview, observation, and documentation. Interviews were conducted with teachers, cottage caregivers, and several students. The limitation of observation carried out is the behavior, communication traditions of students, as well as the documents obtained from the pesantren. The results of the study show that the habitus of Pesantren today can be seen from the dynamics of adaptive attitudes towards modernization, applicable Pesantren regulations, and Pesantren habitus formed in the environment of the boarding school and madrasah. Prophetic communication in Pesantren is built through, first, empathetic communication, which is building emotional and affirmative relationships. Second, persuasive communication as an effort to influence mindsets and behaviors in learning and socializing. Third, communication ethics that are important to pay attention to in strengthening the habitus of Pesantren
Andri Kurniawan, Sarifudin Sarifudin, Mohammad Alawi Copyright (c) 2026 Andri Kurniawan, Sarifudin Sarifudin, Mohammad Alawi http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/646 Wed, 18 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Dwi Tunggal Pedagogy in Children’s Pesantren: Integrating Teacher–Parent Roles in Relational Islamic Education https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/647
This study investigates the mechanism of value internalization in a children’s pesantren through what is conceptualized as Dwi Tunggal Pedagogy—a relational model in which teachers simultaneously enact instructional and parental roles. Rather than broadly examining curriculum or institutional culture, the study specifically analyzes how everyday relational interactions function as the primary socialization process through which moral and spiritual values are internalized by young learners. Using a qualitative case study design, this research was conducted at PPATQ Raudlatul Falah Pati, a Qur’anic boarding school for children aged 7–12. Data were generated through prolonged observation involving 530 students, 123 teachers, and one kiai, as well as in-depth interviews with one kiai, ten teachers (ustadz and ustadzah), ten students, and five parents. Thematic analysis reveals that Dwi Tunggal Pedagogy operates through four interrelated dimensions: relational caregiving, moral–spiritual guidance, emotional attachment, and institutionalized daily interaction. Teachers are not merely transmitters of knowledge but function as consistent attachment figures who provide emotional security, moral discipline, and spiritual nurturing. The findings demonstrate that the effectiveness of children’s pesantren education is deeply rooted in the quality of human relationships rather than instructional structures alone. This study contributes theoretically by extending relational pedagogy and the ethics of care into the context of Islamic boarding education; empirically, by offering rich data from an underexplored setting; and practically, by providing insights for designing child-centered, care-based educational governance in religious boarding schools
Taufikin Taufikin, Sri Nurhayati, Moses Adeleke Adeoye Copyright (c) 2026 Taufikin Taufikin, Sri Nurhayati, Moses Adeleke Adeoye http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/647 Wed, 18 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Negotiating Conservative Traditions and Religious Moderation: A Sociological Study of the Construction of Social Harmony in Pesantren in Madura https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/658
The purpose of this research is to analyze the role of pesantren in internalizing the values of religious moderation through the system applied in education organized with the pesantren's tradition. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies involving kiai, ustadz, and students in the pesantren environment. Data analysis was carried out using thematic analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions drawn, and strengthened by triangulation of sources and techniques to ensure the validity of findings. The results of the study show that the internalization of religious moderation in Pesantren occurs holistically through the integration of formal curriculum, curriculum (formal and hidden curriculum), and Pesantren traditions. The example of kiai and ustadz as well as the collective culture of pesantren has proven to be a key factor in shaping the religious attitude of students that is moderate, inclusive, and oriented towards social harmony. This study concludes that pesantren function as a foundation of moderate Islamic education that is effective in maintaining social cohesion in a multicultural society. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of strengthening the role of Pesantren in the development of Islamic education policies and practices oriented towards religious moderation and social peace.
Supandi Supandi, Kurratul Aini, Abdul Hobir Copyright (c) 2026 Supandi Supandi, Kurratul Aini, Abdul Hobir http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/658 Wed, 18 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Digitalizing Pesantren Economy: The Dynamics of Cashless Payment Systems and Santri Financial Behavior https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/665
The rapid development of financial technology has driven the transformation of the payment system from cash transactions to digital systems in various sectors, including Islamic educational institutions such as Pesantren. However, the implementation of a non-cash payment system in Pesantren presents unique dynamics because it involves the interaction between technological innovation, institutional governance, and Islamic economic values that are the basis of Islamic social practices. This research aims to examine the dynamics of digital financial transformation in Pesantren and synthesize the pattern of financial technology adaptation in the Pesantren economic ecosystem. This study uses a qualitative approach through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, analyzing nine primary corpus articles selected through the PRISMA 2020 screening process from publications in the 2020–2025 period. The data was analyzed using thematic content analysis to identify the main patterns in the implementation of digital payment systems in Pesantren. The results of the study show three main dynamics in the digitalization of the pesantren economy, namely variations in digitalization policy typologies, gaps in infrastructure and institutional readiness, and changes in student transaction behavior influenced by the digital payment system. The cashless payment system contributes to increased transparency, financial control, and institutional accountability, but also faces challenges in the form of limited digital literacy, infrastructure gaps, and socio-cultural resistance. Theoretically, this study enriches the study of Islamic digital economy by explaining how traditional Islamic educational institutions negotiate technological modernization through the integration of fintech innovation, institutional governance, and Islamic economic values.
Evi Sulfaningsih, Dwi Ratnasari, Muhammad Nur Najimi Copyright (c) 2026 Evi Sulfaningsih, Dwi Ratnasari, Muhammad Nur Najimi http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/665 Tue, 31 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 From Centralized Authority to Shared Vision: Collective-Transformational Leadership in Pesantren https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/680
The sustainability of faith-based educational organizations often relies heavily on the singular charisma of their founders, making them highly vulnerable to institutional collapse upon the founder's demise ("founder's syndrome"). This study explores the actualization of collective-transformational leadership and its impact on shaping organizational culture within traditional Pesantren. Employing a qualitative multiple-case study design, research was conducted across three distinct institutional models: the Federation, Modern, and pure Traditional models. Data were collected over six months through in-depth interviews with nearly 30 participants—including central clerics, senior teachers, and students—complemented by participant observation and document analysis. The cross-case thematic analysis reveals a strategic structural shift from solitary, founder-centric authority to formalized, shared leadership councils. This transition successfully institutionalizes the clerics' charisma rather than diluting it. Furthermore, through informal communication strategies and spiritual synergy, this collective leadership mitigates internal conflicts and inspires the organizational community. Consequently, this shared authority shapes resilient and agile organizational cultures tailored to specific institutional visions, ranging from socio-environmental activism and global modern integration to the robust preservation of classical scholasticism. Theoretically, this study expands transformational leadership discourse by demonstrating that charismatic influence can operate synergistically as a collective phenomenon. Practically, it offers a sustainable governance blueprint for global faith-based organizations navigating the tension between preserving traditional religious identity and adapting to modern educational complexities
Sutrisno Sutrisno, Ethem Gürhan, Muhtar Hazawawi Copyright (c) 2026 Sutrisno Sutrisno, Ethem Gürhan, Muhtar Hazawawi http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/680 Tue, 31 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Development and Evaluation of the Integrity of the Diniyah National Curriculum: Analysis of the Parallel Integration Model in Pesantren https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/649
This study analyzes the development of the integration of the national curriculum and the diniyah curriculum (Islam) and evaluates the quality of its implementation in the Pesantren Alkhairaat in Central Palu. Using a qualitative case study design, data was collected through field observation and in-depth interviews with 4 ustadz and 6 students who were selected purposively. Data analysis was carried out using the interactive model Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, including data condensation, presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of the study show that curriculum integration develops gradually and is currently implemented through a parallel model, with general learning in the morning and early learning in the afternoon to evening. The effectiveness of the implementation reached around 80%, despite facing limited facilities, tight schedules, and student adaptation to the two curriculum systems. Curriculum integration is still at the structural stage, but it has the potential to lead to substantial integration through strengthening integrative pedagogy, improving teacher competence, and facility support. These findings imply the need for cross-disciplinary teacher training, collaboration in integrated curriculum design, and investment in educational facilities. The research was limited to one case study; The next research is recommended to conduct a comparative study across pesantren to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the curriculum integration model in Indonesia
Siti Sahra, Sabarudin Sabarudin, Muh Gaki Firman Copyright (c) 2026 Siti Sahra, Sabarudin Sabarudin, Muh Gaki Firman http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://jurnal.staidhi.com/index.php/alinsyiroh/article/view/649 Tue, 31 Mar 2026 00:00:00 +0000
